Is the purest merging of blues and rock in the rock era. Agree or Disagree? I already know that Kafka agrees with me.

CCR is one of the top 5 rock bands in that era. There are many great ones, but they were elite.

I would say they also blended in country. Cosmo’s Factory remains one of my favorite albums of all time.

My first concert was CCR back in the late ‘70s.
No big light show, no big production
Just lots of amps stacked high and it was loud
It’s was awesome. Tell my son about it every now and then

They were really great at putting so much music into a 3 minute song. Unreal.....

My mistake. It was in Shreveport or Bossier City. Probably late ‘60s early ‘70s
I was stationed at Barksdale from ‘69 - ‘73.

I would have loved to have seen them in their prime.

Why? Because they are essentially a jam band?

Fogerty been great at Jazzfest last few years.

Nope. Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher. Also SRV, Billy Gibbons, Clapton, and Johnny Winter.
Someone asked Jimi once what did it feel like to be the greatest guitar player in the world. Jimi replied, "I wouldn't know, man. Go ask Rory Gallagher."

That’s a bit shortsighted. And one of the great attributes of ABB, they are so versatile. Blending Rock, Blues, country, Jazz. Hell they had to come up with a new name for it...Southern Rock
You can listen to a handful of their studio tracks and not get a sense they could also improvise a 15 minute Liz Reed instrumental perfectly.

It feels slightly off to say that a band is a blend of “rock” and blues, since all rock music itself literally a derivative of blues, mixed with elements of country and jazz. Perhaps some bands are more influenced by the Blues than others.
I assumed that Creedence was more influenced by the Country-Western based music, similar to other folkier bands. Whereas Blues-based rock is more in line with Clapton, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The White Stripes, The Black Keys.

I remember Robert Plant saying in an interview that Zeppelin viewed themselves as a blues band first and foremost. Gallows Pole for example is a Lead Belly song

You left out Canned Heat.

Zep has stolen songs from much better blues bands than Creedence.

Yes. But I can appreciate jam bands. Their jams are boring. No one needs a 15 minute drum jam.
