Who else really enjoys the early stuff our brother from the Gulf Coast put out? Havannah Daydreamin' may be one of my favorite albums.

Love Ballad of Spider John, He Went To Paris, A Pirate Looks At Forty, and lot of the early stuff. There's some good stuff in his catalog.

I would take his "High Cumberland Jubilee" and "Down to Earth" albums over any of his other stuff.

I have loved his music for the last 20 years or better. I remember my first trip to Key West, cruising down the Overseas Highway with Songs You Know By Heart on the CD player.
I almost mentioned him in the "Singers you like with bad voices" thread that was on the board a couple of days ago. he doesn't have the best singing voice, but the pictures and stories he paints with his lyrics are amazing.
A1A, Changes in Latitudes, Son of a Son of a Sailor and Volcano are my top four albums. Was going to do top 3, but can't figure out how to drop one of those from the list.
The newer stuff hasn't been bad. Loved License to Chill and Take the Weather With You. Buffet Hotel was ok, songs from St. Somewhere I just can't get into.

A good sampling of his very early stuff. I by the way attended the first parrothead convention which took place in New Orleans.

In one of his books I believe he describes the area he enjoys the most is from Bourbon Street down along the Gulf Coast to the Flora~Bama. I cannot agree more, well except extend it to include Uptown New Orleans.
