that sucks for you.
All the big shows i've been to have seats and tickets, respectively

Why does it suck?
Id much rather see a show at a club where i can get as close or far away as i want and not have an assigned seat.
Also, chances are its gonna sound better too.

All of this. I've seen plenty of great bands and never had to suffer through sitting down in assigned seating.

More people now treat a concert like a night at the club. They hang out and shoot the shite with their friends, with the music just part of the background, I’ll see them standing in a group, with several having their back to the performer.
At Chris Stapleton, when he did a ballad on acoustic, the dull roar of the crowd yakking was louder than him.

Most venues I go to don't have seats but one does and it's like a retirement home in there. I also went to a show at Billy Bob's a few months ago and they sat us at a table and scolded us if we stood up. This was an uptempo funk band so why they didn't have an area up front for dancing is beyond me. Generally, most shows i go to, people are there to see the band so they aren't being douches.its when you go to see bands that have gotten popular that you get a high number of idiots.

As someone who has been to a ton of shows, i can say that the crowd/vibe is always best when a really great band/artist is getting popular but hasn’t broken through to the mainstream yet. When they do, the crowd and venue at next show always is a fricking beating. So if you’re tired of rude crap at a show, seek out more music and go see it at smaller venues with a crowd who are only there for the band and will behave appropriately to the show.

Gonna disagree a little here. Pretty much any show in New Orleans big or small is gonna have a ton of talkers because its a big drinking town.
Like someone earlier said, it seems for a large percentage of the population, going to shows is like going out. They dont care that everyone in the place payed money to see the band, they are just there to get their drink on and talk to their friends.
