Chicken Fried by Zac Brown is pretty terrible

I didn't know much about and i had lunch with this guy that kept going on and on about him. i youtubed some of his more popular songs and was amazed at how many country cliches he crammed into this song.
Meager beginnings? Check.
Still like simple stuff even though i'm crazy rich? Check.
Love my mom? Check.
Think the military is fricking awesome? Check
Love America? Check.

What do you suggest would be more appropriate for his genre? Should he sing about the theory of relativity? Every song has been done before. Zac Brown has more talent in the end of his pinky than every other country pop artist combined.
