Saw him a couple of times back in the 90's. He was OK...had that one good album "Life of the Party" but honestly I thought he was retired anyway. Too bad about losing his voice though.

I always liked his first album Bandera. It's a little different than the standard Texas/red dirt kind of stuff, but I still enjoyed it many years after it came out.
Saw him plenty of times back in the hay day of the Texas music scene and he always put on a good show.
