As a NELA guy, Charlie, his contemporaries, and their music always makes me think about Rabbs and hanging out in Ruston. The closest thing we had to a Texas college town I guess.

RIP Charlie Robison. Lot of great memories there.

I saw him several times. He was a great performer and songwriter, and will be missed.

I only recently started listening. John O'Reilly and New Year's Day are my favorites.

That really sucks, i was supposed to see him at the majestic in Dallas a few weeks ago and the show got cancelled late due to illness with one of the band members. The show goy rescheduled for Jan 20th of next year which is the wifes birthday so i was going to cancel the tickets anyways but i got a notification at about noon today that the show was cancelled. Didnt know anything had happened until i saw this post.

I was traveling when this happened and completely missed it in the news. Just ran across an article that mentioned it, and I'm so devastated by it. I thought I'd find where it was posted here, because I knew he would have a following on the TD Music Board. I can't believe it took me over 3 months to hear that Charlie was gone.

"I'll see you in Houston, if I ever get out that way. I'll see you in Dallas, but I won't have long to stay. If you're ever out West son, and you're feeling like slowing down, I'll see you around, 'round my hometown."
