CCR

Fogerty was a straight boss.
I don't see one category someone could say the Eagles were better in.Not song for song or album for album
And to my knowledge CCR never turned into a shitty reunion band either.so there's that

Lead guitar. Joe Walsh was a BEAST

Yes agreed, Joe Walsh was the better guitarist by far!

I guess so. Not one song comes to mind that I recall beastly guitar playing
CCR however has some of the more memorable intros, hooks, and melodies of most bands I can think of. But then again I still listen to them regularly and have always thought the Eagles were kinda douchey
That said, Witchy Woman is a damn good song

TRUTH! CCR and the Eagles aren't flies on the shite of John Fogerty.

This also. I have to be in the mood to hear some CCR sometimes. I can listen to the Eagles anytime.

CCR and it's not even close.
Although I would have to say that my favorite song from either band is "Take It Easy" by the Eagles. One of my top 3 getting high songs of all time.
But I still like CCR way better.

"Fortunate Son" basically defined an entire generation as well as the Vietnam War.
Does any other song compare as far as definitively capturing a time and place? The only thing in my lifetime that I can think of is Oasis "Wonderwall" when I had a semester abroad in high school, but that wasn't a politically meaningful song. But nothing in America comes close... maybe it's not fair because we have so many mediums and shite for entertainment. Maybe some people think Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" is a defining song with the gay rights battle, etc.
