Pretty much anything by America or Supertramp. Never could bring myself to like either one.

Also :

The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy

Something about this song just doesn't sit well with me. Possibly the lyrics.

You know, I don't dislike the song so much as I just find it overplayed, as is Freebird. If I hear them once a year that's plenty.

Going Up the Country. Sounds like a fricking tone-def muppet is singing it.

You had a pretty solid list until you threw this in there. This is a classic one-hit wonder along with Spirit in the Sky.

You don't even need three chords for the song - two will do.

But, he plays them a little differently every time, so it works.

It's a subversively great song, though.

I'm a big Thin Lizzy fan, and I wasn't particularly crazy about that song either. Musically it was great, so it wasn't a channel changer for me. I just always thought that the lyrics could have and should have been done better, with a little extra work.
There were a lot of songs like that, back then though, I'm a big Bad Company fan too, and a few of their songs seemed to be a bit lazy or maybe rushed, as far as the lyrical aspect goes. That was something that I always paid close attention to, because I was trying to write songs.

Now, I know more about it, and I understand, that writing songs as a band, is a bit different than writing by yourself. When it's just you and your guitar, you really have to work hard on your words, because if you don't, the weakness is glaring. If you are doing your writing in the studio with your band, some of that weak writing can get covered up musically, and you might would just let it slide. The cost of studio time would probably be a factor too. Get something down, and put it the hell out there.

As far as I'm concerned, that was a pretty good song, it did get overplayed though.

Yeah, I didn't care much for it, when it was on the radio, love it now though.

Got to disagree with you on this one, I thought it was pretty good, and close to being great.

It might have been rushed a little bit, and probably should have been slowed down a few beats, so Dobie could do his thing a little better.

I've always considered that, to be a pretty well written song. It seems like a cheap rhyme for the chorus, but it's a damn good hook, and the song was written well around it.

Elvis could have taken that song and knocked it out of the park.
