Knew it was coming w/his dementia diagnosis and his wife passing recently but it still sucks. At least he's back w/his brothers.

like sly stone before him, I learned he was still alive and dead on the same day

I always thought that The Last Song should be his last song ever on an album. It is hauntingly beautiful. Also like how Summers Gone is the last Beach Boy song on an album.

I knew he was no doing well at all. Had him in my death pool this year unfortunately.
That being said what an amazing person. God Only Knows will always be an all time favorite top 5 song of mine. RIP big Brian.

First band whose music I ever bought, offa the TV when I was 9.
German Interviewer: "When you first started out with the Beach Boys, when you first hit the charts, you were very young."
Carl Wilson: "Yeah, I was 14"
GI: "But you already had those very fine vocal harmonies. Who taught you those harmonies?"
Carl: "My brother Brian. I actually started doing very complex vocal harmonies by about age 8. In fact, Brian would get my mother not to let me go out and play so I had to stay home, so he could teach me to sing."
GI: "How old was Brian at the time?"
Carl Wilson: "He was 12."

Smile is a great album. Imagine if it had been released as planned. RIP to one of the great ones.

Feel Flows is awesome, but Brian didn’t have much of anything to do with that track. Carl Wilson composed it, sang lead and their band manager at the time wrote most of the lyrics.

I saw the Beach Boys in the Superdome many years ago. They played at halftime during the Tulane vs USL football game. That was Tulane's way of trying to get people to come see their games.
