They were one of the best selling groups around at the turn of the millennium. Then they bashed the US President on foreign soil right as a war was beginning. They basically fell off the earth.

Cowboy Take Me Away is a great song.

They were the classic example of why mainstream artists should stick to doing what they do and leave politics out of their shows. Travelin Soldier was a solid song as well.

One of the bigger tours of 2016 has been stretched into 2017

I don't know them well but they seem to be back from that

Yes
They
Did

I didn't really have a problem with WHAT they said but WHERE they said it. I'm NOT a W fan at all but I wish these SJW snowflake nutjobs would have said hat shite in TX instead of London......the look on their faces would have been priceless

I'm Not Ready to Make Nice was a great song about the backlash. But it's the last song of theirs I remember hearing.

They would be "old" now and washing up. I find it amusing that country radio still won't play them. But they aren't what they look for now. Musicians, play their instruments, write songs, have opinions, and really now aren't hot enough.

Carrie underwood could scissor and crush all three of their skulls.

the singer was quite for 8 yrs but, now that it's cool again to rip the president, she's back at it.

Yeah, she's done several interviews over the years and hasn't backed down from her comments and says she doesn't regret it at all.

what else is she going to say?" Well, i wish i hadn't said that, we would have sold more albums"?

would it be that crazy for her to say "in hindsight looking at the context of the situation i probably should have been more thoughtful" or some generic throwaway apology?

id say that standing by it makes it clear that they were ok with the statement and repercussions.

they also seem to be printing money for themselves with this new tour.

I think the real issue was she/they doubled down on it. If they had just let it be, I don't think the backlash would have been as bad or lasted as long.

I think what really did them in was the ensuing back and forth with Toby Keith, after he made a comment about it, she comes out on an awards show wearing a shirt emblazoned with the letters FUTK.

Exactly. All about timing. Had she made her comments in 2005-6 instead of 2002, they may have been fine?
