Another great example of this phenomena is Switchfoot. Comparing their first successful album to their last album is night and day and not in a good way.
Cage The Elephant did the same between their first and second album, though they seemed to return to their roots somewhat with the third one.

I honestly love both of those albums.

-When a band records a song in a key that they have no shot at replicating live
-When a lead singer overdubs a lot of really good sounding bgv's on the record, and they are nowhere to be found in the live performance
-When a "live" record sounds just as over produced as a studio record
Honestly, these don't bother me at all. They are entirely different mediums and I don't need the album replicated at the concert. If it is replicated, I'd rather just listen to the album.

When a singer cannot enunciate "you." An example is the something like "about you" that turns into "aboutchew" when they sing.

I don't need the live song to be an exact replica of the album version. That's one of my favorite things about live music is when a group will tweak a song after performing it for a while on the road. It just bothers me when it is in a much lower key.

Women drummers, especially Meg White. Distracts me from Jack White's awesomeness.

I don't like it when singers add a line or phrase in between lyrics live. especially noticeable when it's a classic song and the band has sung it a million times. it's like they're narrating the song.
"put your hands together" also annoys me

However, the vast majority of their catalog is just not my cup of tea though I can acknowledge and respect their composition skills, musical innovation, and technical wizardry
Sounds like you don't actually know anything about their catalogue and are just trying to sound like you do.

Think the 80's. Basically, any tones that don't sound like a real piano, electric piano, or organ, especially when it's simulating horns. It just makes songs sound corny, dated, and lame.
Lol

WTF extended live versions of songs that should've been left alone. One of many, many, many examples is the live version of "Cymbeline" by Pink Floyd. They turned a great song into a coma-inducing piece of shite.
