The thought Waters put into the lyrics sets it apart for me. The words are as relevant today as they were 40 years ago.

There is nothing wrong with The Who Sells Out, Tommy and Who's Next. Except they are not quite as good as the best of the Beatles, Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd.

What about Tommy, Who's Next and Quadrophenia? Such a leap in the band's studio sound and Townshend's songwriting.

That's my pick, but don't forget Live at Leeds which was after Tommy. Honestly, the release with the Tommy side is better than Tommy.

Yeah I wanted to include Live at Leeds because to me it's as good as ABB Live at Filmore but was unsure about its inclusion. The whole Live at Leeds show was amazing and all y'all know my position on Quadrophenia.
