The Doors - The End

My friend used to play this in his car just to piss me off. The title is misleading--that song never ends! (12 minutes or so?).

Gimme Shelter. It summed up the decade in a nutshell.

Great song. Does anyone like the Grand Funk version better than the Stones? Not to take anything away from the Stones at all but I kind of prefer the GFR version. Not gonna fight anybody at Sonic over it because they're both awesome.

It would be difficult to pick one song from different genres let alone one song for the entire decade.

I have to say Sukiyaki from the summer of 1963. I met my wife that summer and this played often on the car radio.

Trivia - you can hear this song playing as background music in one of the episodes of The Man in the High Castle.

Top 3:

White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane

White Room - Cream

L.A. Woman - The Doors

White Room was a song that was well ahead of its time. Not only was it psychedelic but it also was damn near a metal song. That Clapton guitar solo was kick arse.
