I don't know much about EDM, but I liked The Crystal Method's Tweekend back in the day. What genre is that?

What about the chillwave explosion of 2009? Also hard to believe that dubstep wasn't #1 for 2010-2012.

Like so there's deep house, acid house, tech house, progressive house, ambient house, electro house, French house, etc.

Are you fricking kidding me?

EDM people are worse than fricking indie hipsters with subgenres

+1

I still label everything as 'electronica' which I know is an outdated term but whatever.

I don't understand the dub step ratings either. I don't see many events that aren't dub step or trap.

German House.

The Edm scene in America is god awful. The Europeans are kicking our arses right now. I specifically like the edm scenes in Berlin and London the most

German House technically falls into the Deep house/tech house category which is what I like.

Solomun - Hamburg

Trickski - Berlin

Alle Farben - Berlin

and of course Robin Schulz - Osnabrück

I've been jamming a lot of Aphex Twin and Autechre and like Mouse on Mars and shite. I guess you call it IDM? I dunno. That genre stuff is way beyond me.

I like some of that stuff you posted, but I have no understanding of what makes that "deep" house. I mean, isn't house music just house music? I mean it's like a 5-10 BPM difference and has slightly different sounds in it becomes it's own little genre?

I guess I don't get it.
