"Mama Told Me Not to Come" - original Randy Newman; remake Three Dog Night. Almost all, if not all, of Three Dog Night's songs were excellent cover songs.
I think that nominations of "Take Me to the River" and "I Just Want to Make Love to You" are excellent choices, too.
