Hello fellow metal heads, in your opinion what is the best album out this year. The genre could be flexible, anywhere from Metalcore|Hardcore|Death Metal|Death Core|DJent, etc...

I think Currents has the best album so far this year from what I've heard, I haven't heard August Burns Red yet, comes out tomorrow. Lots of good bands coming out with some good shite this year. Architects is still coming out as well.

I've been listening to a lot of metal lately, "Nightmare Logic" by Power Trip is amazing. I saw them the other night with Exodus & Obituary. Great show.

People had mixed feelings on it, but I really liked the new WITTR album and the new Elder album have been my favorites, but I tend toward the Doom side of metal, not the various /core and faster paced stuff.

I'll have to check out elder, never heard of them. I haven't heard dying fetus in a long time either, I'll have to check their new album out.

This is up there for me. Surprised to see another Novelists fan on here.

Dayseeker: Dreaming is Sinking//Waking is Rising is another one I love.

Wage War: Deadweight

I play blackened death metal and have toured the United states and Scandinavia for the past decade and a half.

Ready for 2018.

Here's the real list:
Pallbearer-Heartless
Dying Fetus-Wrong One to frick With
Sepultura-Machine Messiah
Mastodon-Cold Dark Place (I actually prefer this over Emperor of Sand even though it just an ep)
Havok-Conformicide
Igorr-Savage Sinusoid (not really metal but he gets covered by metal sites)

Honorable mention:
Obituary
Mastodon-Emperor of Sand
Suffocation-Of the Dark Light

Still to come:
Cannibal Corpse-Red Before Black (November)
Morbid Angel-Kingdoms Disadained (December)

John 5 And The Creatures - Season of the Witch

It is a guitar driven instrumental album, but it isn't boring like a lot of them can be. It's by far my favorite album of this year.
