re: Best Metal Album out in 2017 thusfar?

Ok, so update, I don't really like the new direction Veil Of Maya is taking. They have incredible guitars, but too much bitch singing for my tastes. On another note, just heard enterprise earths new album...gotta say it is hitting!

That's why I don't like it. I generally start to like a band for their unique sound that separates them from the rest. Once they start changing their sound, it can sometimes be good, but often times in my opinion its for the worst. I do like metal core, but there is one specific thing I hate, and thats too much singing. I can tolerate the choruses being sung with cleans, but thats about it.

There are plenty of bands who do this right, stay with their original sound and get huge, August Burns Red, Metallica, Parkway Drive except for last album, don't change what works. Just my opinion though.

I fricken love it. Album is flawless. It is a perfect blend of Shogun, Silence in The Snow, and In Waves.

Yoo you guys remember the band Polaris?? They have an album coming out today...The first 2 songs are lit. Very groovy and heavy. I did not expect this from them. I'll check out that Butcher Babies band, never heard of them.

I'm trying to give the new Trivium a listen. I really liked Ascendancy back in the day but kind of stopped following them a while back.
