Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett: I love (most) everything they did since Gilmour replaced him, but I'm still curious what direction a less-unstable Syd could've taken the band in...the output would probably be less accessible than what Floyd would ultimately become, but he still could write hypnotic catchy songs when he was on his game...

Boston with Brad Delp: Considering all the years Delp was ready and available, it's a waste that Tom Scholz could only muster 3 Boston albums with him as a full-time participant. I'm sure Delp wasn't seeing the same type of money that Scholz was, so no doubt he (Delp) couldn't wait around for 7-10 years between albums....

I know it was considered a super group but I really liked Velvet Revolver.....I think that group had they stayed together and Scott hadn't died could have been great.

You get an upvote for including Failure. Incredible band. Also, in case you didn't know, they are together again and just recently released a new album. Not as quality as Fantastic Planet, which is one of the greatest albums of the 90's, but really, really good nonetheless.

The Doors.

It's hard to believe they put their whole library together in less than 5 years. Jim seemed pretty washed up towards the end, but you have to wonder what else they could have produced had he lived longer and/or cleaned up his act just a little. I honestly believe the last album, LA Woman, was their best.

Yeah, I actually saw them in New Orleans when they toured for the album. Great stuff.

The Police came to mind first.

Sting hadn't completely matured as a songwriter yet, and all 3 were at the top of their game as far as execution.
