i would say that nearly all of the people that truly enjoy jazz, and even more so fusion, were at least musicians at some point in there life.
without the grasp of time signatures and understanding how they are working around the beats, jazz and fusion would seem chaotic.

This too. Jazz and true blues. Notice that most people who love and are blown away by Gary Clark Jr. play music or have played music in the past. People enjoy it, but to understand how good he is, you have to understand what it is exactly that he's doing.

The number on answer is Arcade Fire. Bono, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Cydni Lauper, and many more all listen to them. Yes I know Arcade Fire is somewhat popular but not as popular as they should be.

I can agree with Arcade Fire. I really liked what they've done, but again, you can only allow so much "indie" before you get the rap/pop backlash. Same with the Black Keys. They got a huge push with Brothers, but it only lasts so long before Nikki Minaj or Wayne drops a new one.

you dont have to be a musician to like Arcade Fire... they are a huge band and won a grammy for record of the year...

I always though that the 90s movement, Math Rock, appealed to musicians, but I liked some of them...

They dont sell many records though.. they only sell only about 500,000 copies of an album worldwide. Although that's good, they are better than 500,000 records sold.
