if you havent seen fredrik thordendal's side projects, its meshuggah taken to a exponential medium. if that sound like its even possible, he did it. just try and keep the rhythm yourself.

Still, the bulk of extreme metal people is still a rather small group. I'm not even a big metal fan. They are just insanely talented.
They also seem to be pretty well-grounded. Tomas probably underrates his own ability more than anyone else. If you have seen many interviews with him, he totally downplays his polyrhythms with "well, most of it is based in a 4/4". The 4/4 is just the glue that holds the rhythms together.
