It’s a Kenwood KA-405
I’ve had it around 8-9 years and it’s been great. Bought it used and I’ve never even had to deoxit it.
At some point I should probably upgrade, but I have no clue how much I would have to spend on a new amplifier to match its performance.

SIAP but has anyone had a scratched record repaired? I inherited an out of print specially mastered copy of In My Tribe in excellent shape except for one super annoying, small, but very noticeable scratch when it’s played.
I’ve read about techniques but would probably do more damage myself.

Don't think it can be done and I'd be skeptical of anything claiming to be able to.

Just ran across this new to me band while streaming. Witch Ripper. This is from their description on BandCamp.
If that sounds interesting I highly suggest a listen. This album rocks!

Born and raised in the city of grey skies and loud music, Seattle in 2012, Washington's WITCH RIPPER have seamlessly welded together the contemporary heaviness of such hard-hitting acts as MASTODON, GOJIRA, and BARONESS with the anthemic bombast of classic artists in the vein of QUEEN and DAVID BOWIE from the start. WITCH RIPPER approach their music in true American fashion: big riffs, bigger hooks, and damn, that drummer! With "The Flight After the Fall", this heavy Seattle outfit re-emerge boldly into the guitar-driven US metal scene.
If that sounds interesting I highly suggest a listen. This album rocks!

I had my finger on that one a couple of times in the last week. Only reason I didn't grab it is I have a good Blue Note CD copy of it. Love his version of Ornette's "Una Muy Bonita" to open the album. One of those really killer BN lineups.

Just got a VMN 95 SP white stylus to play 78's and shellacs. Tracking has been tricky, especially with ones that are vertical cut, like Edison brands. Anyone have any tips for vertical cuts? They seen to need very heavy tracking in the 5-7g area. Also having to almost track each disc individually. Is this common on 78's?

Was at a customer house today. Media room had, among other goodies, Wilson Alexandria mains, Wilson subs, a pair of MC kw1.2 monoblocks, Transparent Opus 2 cables.
