I have an old Marantz 6300 turntable. It sounds off and I have the strobe synced, but there seems to be a bit of a wobble for the strobe. I’m assuming this is causing the sound issues. Any ideas on how to fix this?

This appears to be a direct drive table. Could be the motor or the drive electronics. If it was just the strobe light then I'd say the strobe circuit is off, but if sound follows then the platter speed is off.

I recapped an old Pioneer turntable a couple of years ago and the speed control is solid.

Need some help in replacing my old harman kardan 2 channel.
Cleaned the pots for the last time and the static is unbearable.
Loved the power that drove my savard 5oo studio monitors and would love/need to replace the unit with something that is compatible if not better for around a grand.
I've searched "best or top stereo 2 channel receivers in this price range and cambridge 100 and yamaha rn602 seems to be the consensus.
I've had and love marantz. outlaw has my attention and no way in hell would the misses let me get a Mcintosh.
I want something that will pond my chest and if i need to add a pre amp.
audiophile brethren please help.

Take a look a NAD as well. I think they have some good 2 channel integrated amp offerings under $1,000.

Some watts are better than other watts and they don’t necessarily have to be as many watts.

Pre amp isn't necessary unless you go with a separate amp. Integrated amps combine amp & pre amp. If you want radio, then go with the receiver.
Yes some of the brands play games with how wattage is measured. This is especially a problem with multi channel systems. You want to compare values for both channels driven over the full frequency range, continuous power, not peak.

Also look at what happens to the wattage when a more difficult load is presented. What’s the wattage with a 4 ohm load vs an 8 ohm load? How difficult are the speakers to drive in terms of sensitivity? A speaker line like Klipsch is notoriously easy to drive. My Dynaudio Special Forty speakers present a 6 ohm load with 86 db sensitivity. They want power and a lot of it to open up.
While wattage and distortion are important they aren’t the end all be all when it comes to building a system.
So, an 80 watt integrated that doubles to 160 watts into 4 ohms can be a better match than an overrated 120 watt amp that drives 4 ohm speakers at 160 watts. It is certainly built better. That is certain.
I’m not sure what speakers you’re driving. That is always a factor.

so what i need to know is if my speakers are 4 or 8 ohm?
I do know that the speakers are high end custom built that require enough power to drive them.
mid range to high range with enough power they are insane.
low volume they are decent.
i do love listening to rather high level kind of like at a club.
make since?

If you want to get into separates for $1,000 then check out Emotiva.
You can get this Integrated Amp/Tuner/DAC for $550. It could later be used as a PreAmp if you decide you need more power. LINK
