NAD M33 thoughts. It does everything I want it to do. It has simplified my system and cabling to the point of being silly. It has more than enough power to drive my Dynaudio's and inputs enough for the other gear I want to run. I'm getting used to BluOS and using it to control it on my fan. I'm very happy with the sound quality and streaming hi-res music is really nice straight from the amp.

My nits. It does not stay on the last input chosen when put into standby mode. This seems like something basic to me as does the next item. You also can't make a choice in the settings to set the volume to a level that it defaults to when it powers on. It always goes to -40 db. These items seem like basic things that it should do or have settings for. The good news is that NAD does firmware upgrades and there is no reason that these two items shouldn't be addressed in the future.

It also has those two expansion slots and who knows what options will be available for the slots. Hopefully something good.

How do you like the fluance turntable?

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert, but I think it's a good turntable for the money, especially considering it came with the ortofon blue and the acrylic platter. It's the best sounding of the 3 I've had to my ears.

Good stuff 45acp. The Massey Hall show is such a legendary performance. Dexter's 1960s records are mostly terrific too, always love his big tenor sound. Not familiar with that PC record but obviously great personnel.

One of my favorites—Lee Morgan...

“Leeway” is also good, as is “vol. 3”

Speaking of Lee Morgan, if you're a fan check out I Called Him Morgan, the story of his killer - his wife Helen. The interview at the core of that movie was done by Larry Thomas, who I've met here in Durham and talked to at a few shows. He's a historian and big time jazz aficionado, DJ etc.

Anyway, The Rajah is a wonderful record. Morgan had hits with a couple of the boogaloo / soul jazz style tracks like The Sidewinder, The Rumproller, but he created a lot of really wonderful more "serious" music and compositions. Search For the New Land is another big favorite of mine.

Thanks. I'm really liking it. I spoke with my dealer and he's passing along a couple of suggestions I made for a firmware update.

I asked that they set it up so the M33 defaults to the last input chosen when powered up from standby mode. I also asked that it defaults to the previous volume level selected and that the ability to set initial volume level in the audio setup menu be added.

It sounds fantastic and it's been really nice to eliminate several pieces of gear from my rack along with a bunch of cables deleted from the system.

Hey Marco, and other fellers itt. I’ve been running the same system for years and I’m finally thinking about upgrading. What piece of equipment should I upgrade first to see the most improvement? Or maybe add something? Around $1k would be my max spend right now. If I need to wait and save more to get something worthwhile then I would.
