No. Made In Japan by Deep Purple is the gold standard for live albums.

Possibly. Read an interesting note that JC could feel that he had the prisoners in the palm of his hand during his performance. He felt that if he gave the word he could have gotten them to riot....which he was reeeeeealy tempted to do Of course, that could have been him embelishing his recollection of the performance for entertainment purposes.


Don't sleep on other live performances that were possibly the greatest captured on tape:

Made in Japan - Deep Purple
Moonflower - Santana (admittedly not entirely live)
Live at the Apollo - James Brown
