I don’t know how much rap this board listens to but I am hype. Announced on Tuesday, released on Friday. Got inspired on tour, wrote the songs and recroded in two weeks.

Took the worst 3 of 12, got rid of them and replaced them with 3 he felt were up to par.

Also no features.

This board has very few rap fans. But I am excited for it. Cole is one of my favorite artists.

But if what you say is true, that somewhat scares me. I want him to release something he took time over the course or months to compile. Not just a few tracks he laid in the studio over a few days

Not super worried because I'm pretty sure Forrest Hills was the same way.

JJ Cale is 10x the writer J Cole is.

Forrest hills was amazing. His last album was super disappointing though. So Im hoping he brings it again with this one.

It's better than FHD.

There, I said it.

It’s pretty good. Don’t expect to hear any of it in the club tho

For that matter, so is Jude Cole.

Cole doesn't make club bangers, he had a few when he first came out but I think he is more developed than all these "new rappers".

Have listened to the first 8 tracks and its right on par with expectations. Dope beats, couple zinger lines, little preach here and there, overall solid composition of music thus far.

Going back to back platinum with no features - fingers crossed.

The album seems very satirical. But it's got some bangers as well.

1985-Cole bodied Lil Pimp.

I don’t know about that. It is really fraking good. It gets better the more I listen to it.

The last four songs plus KOD and Kevin’s Heart are all great.

Don’t know how far any would climb up the Billboard tho.

Favorite part is that it is an anti-smoking weed and drugs album released on 4/20.

I liked it a lot. It’s refreshing to hear new rap with substance to it and not just repeat Gucci gang over and over again.

Damn...can't believe the hate for 4YEO. I thought it was a pretty good album. "Neighbors" was a banger, for sure.

I’m not a huge fan of J Cole, but this is really good.

For those that like this type of intelligent rap, check out Saba’s new album if you haven’t already.

Saba's new album is phenomenal. My AOTY so far in hip hop. I tell everyone I come across to give that album a listen.

I love KOD. Much better than 4YEO which I thought was solid.
