Anyone Checked out the new Linkin Park album?

I loved Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Minutes to Midnight grew on me, but wasn't as good as the first two.
I don't get how you can invent a new genre of music, be very successful with it, and then completely abandon it. The last album didn't even sound like the same band that did "One Step Closer." I really hoped they had finished their experiment and would go back to their roots. Itunes review said fans of the original two albums should "immediately take to Living Things." So glad I waited and didn't preorder. More electronic emo crap. It seems to be marginally better than the last album, but nowhere in the ballpark of the first two. Boo.

Inventing a new genre is a bit strong, but they did a great job of fusing rock/metal and rap/hip hop on the first album.

But RHCP, FNM, and RATM all did this before them, and that's naming just a few.

Hybrid Theory was a great album. 2nd best album of the 2000s behind The Black Keys' Magic Potion for me. Everything after that though was trash.

Why the frick would I want to do that?
Whoa, did you see that? You were just witness to the birth of a new genre of posting because I said so.

I loved their first 2 albums.
Every since then though, awful, and this album, awful.
I liked Lost in the Echo and Victimized, about it.
