I’ve seen them several times over the years. Way before I moved to Louisiana, but this has always been a favorite. I play it every time I leave Louisiana.
Oak Ridge Boys - Leaving Louisiana (from the Dukes of Hazzard)
Elvira
Bobbie Sue
American Made
Ozark Mountain Jubilee
Love Song
Turn up the mighty Oaks and play your favorite song!

I have fond memories of spending time at my grandparents spinning a vinyl in one of those giant consoles that played “Elvira.” We would usually follow it up with “my toot toot.” Good times.

She played tambourine with a silver jingle
And she must have known the words to at least a million tunes
But the one most requested by the man she knew as "Cowboy"
Was the late night benediction at the Y'all Come Back Saloon.

For my money it just doesn’t get any better than an Oak Ridge Boys Christmas. I’m a fan of their entire catalog

Brother, that is the best. We need more women like that in America right now. What these modern ladies don’t understand is that we love showing them off. It’s an equality thing. No man wants to be with a weak woman. I don’t want a woman that isn’t bold, ballsy, and beautiful.

This is a favorite of mine. Prodigal’s Son story. Reminds me of my own life and travels. Mistakes and redemption.
Ozark Mountain Jubilee

Come on in, Baby take a load off....
When I was a kid, they were still a southern Gospel quartet.
That ages me a fair piece.

One my favorite early Oaks song was "I'll Be True To You".
My wife was a big fan and said the singer who relaced William Lee Golden committed suicide years later.

My mother used to sing this to me when I was a baby and wouldn't sleep. I found out about it one day when I was older and we heard it riding in car. I have sung it to my own children when they couldn't sleep at night. Man that song brings back some memories. Great thread, was missing my mother today and this thread bought back some memories.
The song is Dream On
