Jicks?
Pavement for adults, I suppose. They both offer a unique sound that intersects at points we all love about Pavement.
Silver Jews - You think Stephen Malkmus can write? David Berman is even better than him. American Water (1998) and Natural Bridge (1996) are the best efforts by the Joos. Amazing.
Jicks - Mirror Traffic (2011) and Real Emotional Trash (2008) are really good. My personal favorite if Pig Lib (2006).

Im a big fan of the jicks, i have all their albums and ive seen them live a few times. Always a good show. Their 1st album, stephen malkmus, is my favorite. Phantasies is the shite.

My favorites are Starlite Walker and The Arizona Record, but they were very much in the middle of Pavement's hey day... I *think* Stephen and Bob's input in the group slowed down considerably after these...
I liked the Jicks stuff and even Preston School of Industry, but they never captured the initial spark I loved in early Pavement... I didnt even care for Terror Twilight that much...

Jicks are good. I've seen them twice...one show was so-so but the last one was pretty good.

really dug Pig Lib, but havent really gotten into the other Malkmus/Jicks stuff.

Huge fan of Real Emotional Trash. Probably my favorite of all the Malkmus stuff (Pavement included).
