Wow if true may not bode well for DTJ. Bad optics in any event.

He needs to dump Guliani ASAP before he single-handedly sinks the WH
Trump will lose support from moderate military officers with this.

Not a good political move.
You don’t understand what treason means.

Besides if DJT fires him it would backfire tremendously while the impeachment proceedings are still on.
Actually no. That’s an administrative action separate from a criminal conviction. The Navy should be allowed to administratively address the fact this guy acted dishonorably and violated the SEAL code of conduct. The Army does tab revocations for situations just like this.

If DJT wants to pardon him from criminal culpability, he can. I don’t agree with it, but I respect his decision as CIC. Just like I didn’t think Obama’s pardon of Manning was the right choice.

So what are we left with? Evidence that a Navy SEAL acted dishonorably. Whether or not the CIC reversed that on paper. The Navy should be expected to remove the guy’s Trident and separate him administratively just as they would any sailor who did the same combat record.

Its a little known fact that the Obama Administration deliberately halted the advance of a lot of our best military officers. Obviously, if you halt their advance they will have to resign. Most, if not all, were conservative who they knew would not advance their "America is evil" agenda. Hundreds if not thousands of the best of our best were done this way. I have a relative that was the youngest Lieutenant colonel in the Army. He got swatted because of what he read from the army issued "handbook" on Muslims while teaching his men about different peoples.
Link?
Don’t assume I’m ok with Obama pardons, either. I’m not.

Every day the DoD is engaged in operations that you will never hear about. Soldiers have to evaluate hard decisions in light of the laws of our country and the standards of conduct that we have told the world we will abide by. Everyday decisions are made in this vein. Many are very tough decisions, but that’s part of the job. Our troops understand if you don’t have the moral courage to make the right decision, then you don’t have what it takes to serve.

Those pardoned, including Bradley Manning, violated those laws and should be held accountable by the military who was attempting to do just that in the case of Gallagher and Golesteyn. The DoD had already done that in the other two cases.

The actions of those who were pardoned tells the world that they, not their commanders, will be the ones who decide what laws they will follow and when they follow them. That is a disgrace to those soldiers who do the right thing every day and make those hard decisions with respect for the laws of war.

These pardons are an insult to the military and detracts from the integrity of our military.

There is a large consensus in the military of those who agree with this line of thinking.
Nice deflection. Do you agree with the pardons? If so, why?
Those who think this was a good decision are the types who are going to vote for DJT no matter what he does. On the other half, the NeverTrumpers definitely won’t be swayed by this decision.

What he’s done is begin to alienate moderates and independents who were inclined to vote for him, but won’t now.

Basically every military officer I know disagrees with his decision to subvert the military justice process. Case in point is SECNAVY committing career suicide by refusing to implement the pardon. You think that decision was made on a whim? No; there were several Admirals who agreed with his decision to refuse the order, and supported him.

The fact the civilian leader of the entire Navy quit over it should be all you need to know. SECDEF himself, a former Army Officer, tried to convince DJT to let the military handle these cases 2 weeks ago.

Make no mistake, this decision is not nearly as popular in the military as Trump or his most loyal followers insist.

I guarantee almost everyone on this message board who praises the pardons either didn’t serve, or was enlisted and never commanded troops at any level.

 What’s the point of this thread?
His random use of incorrect capital letters was always strange to me.

Because every American, even the lowly President, has a right to face and cross examine his/her accuser.

 what

The whistleblower is not the one formally accusing him of anything, it’s congress.

You guys simply do not understand the confrontation clause and it’s applicability to these proceedings.

If I work for a government agency and witness fraud, waste or abuse by a government employee and alert the inspector general, they will be the one accusing him, not me.
Discussed this at length with a colleague whilst tailgating this weekend.

Seems to me it’s completely irrelevant in this context. All he/she did was highlight a potentially illegal phone call of which we now know of, and even have the transcript. I think republicans would be much better off fighting the merits of a pretty weak case for impeachment instead of trying to convince us moderates/independents that we need to know who the whistleblower is. We just don’t.

Heard a GOP pundit rationalize the necessity of revealing the whistleblower’s identity by saying “if someone yells fire and you look over and there is actually a fire, you want to know who first saw the fire.” Not sure I understand his argument there

You address the fire, it doesn’t matter who first saw it.

Navy is the easiest route for someone that age to join without having to go active duty.

Yea dude is a typical son of a politician, no surprise.

But I heard a right wing pundit try and press the narrative “Hunter got into the Navy with no experience”

Everyone starts their military career with no experience. Focus on the drug aspect. Any military officer who gets kicked out is bad news.
What’s the status of delta sky club?

Got a flight next week and I need my access.
Wasn't there a fair or a carnival near the aquatic club/raquet club near Florida Blvd.?

Why is he wearing the 2CR Regimental insignia? Is he currently assigned there?
What part of Germany are you going to?

I recommend Bavaria for the traditional Germany experience. Munich is a great town, and you can step down to Garmish for skiing and/or a great German winter town.

If you're going from France, it would be easier to stay on the western side. I recommend Baden Baden (classic spa town) and/or Rudesheim. Both great German experiences.
