You're certainly not the only. I still listen to it a lot also, usually have radio on hair nation when i'm driving. I still pick up some cds each month also. I keep my eye out on ebay and discogs for used cdss.

I'll fricking cut you for including Guns in Glam metal.

You need a Spotify account. It'll save you money from buying CDs and has all the glam metal you could possibly ever want to listen to at the touch of a button.
(Insert Alonzo Mourning thinking meme here)
Too lazy to post the meme but this.
I should check it out, yes. Thanks

Anyways, been listening to a lot of Warrant,
Yeah, I still listen. After Motley Crue, Warrant is next on my list of favorite glam metal bands. Their music goes a lot deeper than Heaven and Cherry Pie, a song Janie Lane hated and literally wrote in fifteen minutes as a joke.

I’m 44 and getting ready to start cooking dinner. I’m current jamming the new Chevelle, Black Label Society and Lamb of God. Jam on my brother! I never really got into glam! Early 90’s was when Pantera took off!!! That’s when I went to the heavy side of music!

No. Hair Nation is one of my favorite Sirius stations.

I'm reading Fargo Rock City by Chuck Klosterman currently, so it's making me relisten to a lot of it.

Must be the generation we are from....we all listen to that music! All of my neighbors know my music tastes, because its meant to be played LOUD! lol
Just recently I stumbled upon a song from back in the day....not hair metal, but a masterpiece of music - "Stargazer" by Rainbow. fricking Dio on vocals. It was like hitting the lottery when I heard it for the first time last year.

Do you really still buy CD's? I'm the same age and haven't bought a CD since Napster...
For the longest time, it was nearly impossible to match the sound quality of CD with anything digital. Especially at low cost and mobility.
There are now HD streams, like Amazon Music HD, but Bluetooth technology is slow and still can't always get the good sound. Some phones, cars, and headphones still don't have Bluetooth aptX.
I fault no one for still buying CDs for their car or home.
When is the last time you played a CD in your car and then streamed blue tooth in order to hear the quality difference? You will be shocked when you do.

Mostly correct, the record company (Columbia) asked Jani to include a "R&R anthem song" more commercial and with a punch (similar to 'Pour Some Sugar on Me'), so he wrote the song as you describe.
Jani Lane deserved more recognition than what he became, but I guess that's another topic. He was brilliant musically. Just re-discovered "Uncle Tom's Cabin" recently. Man, what a tune and those vocals!

No hair band music for me, mostly metal, some grunge and 80-90s rap. About the same age, almost 50.

The only glam metal I can stand listening to much is Steel Panther. (BTW, loved the interview where they play like Satch doesn't understand that it's "but metal" as opposed to "butt metal". )
I have friends who are still stuck there in their metal listening and won't really listen to anything much post early 1990s.

I have a large collection of stuff that can be broadly termed "glam" or hair metal. I lean more toward stuff that was less poppy and wussified. Favorites include:
Badlands
Love/Hate
Spread Eagle
Four Horsemen
Lillian Axe
Dangerous Toys
Skid Row
Junkyard
Every Mother's Nightmare
L.A. Guns
Like any other genre there's good and bad, unfortunately it seems that this type of music routinely holds up the worst examples as best and most popular. But good taste was never the strong suit I guess.

Subtle difference, but I've always thought of glam rock and hair metal as two different things. "Glam rock" was more of a 70's thing, mostly out of the UK (T.Rex, Sweet, Gary Glitter, etc). It was more "poppy". Hair metal (Poison, Motley Crue, Warrant, etc) seemed to be a little heavier.
Either way, both have good tunes
All true.
