Cantrell is as impressive a singer as Lanyne Staley, IMHO.

He could sing with the same force and emotion as Staley, but his tone was different. I do think Staley was better, but i think their vocal talents are closer than other people make it seem.

Best MTV Unplugged concert ever. I still listen to the record frequently. As a whole, from start to finish it's actually my favorite of all the one's they produced.

I disagree. Cantrell was definitely underrated in his vocal efforts. In fact, Staley's vocals were not the defining element of the group IMO, it was the collaboration of the two.

Which is why post Layne efforts just seem forced. Cantrell's guitars and the vocal collaboration are what made them what they were imo.
