He split Linda Ronstadt.

He deserves all happiness for that.

Live version here from 1989, one of my favorites. With a little Bonnie Raitt and Greg Allman thrown in.

The Neville Brothers were a regular in Baton Rouge when I was at LSU and I used to love watching them perform.

Not too late to celebrate Neil Diamond, born the same day as Neville:

Hearing Aaron Neville sing Ave Maria in the gospel tent at Jazz Fest will always be a musical highlight for me.

Back in the 70s, he used to regularly sing at St Christopher's Church on N Rampart in NO, every Sunday night, together with Allen Toussaint on piano. Ave Maria was part of his regular reperitoire there. Was an amazing experienc.

Both amazing musicians.
My dad was a bassist and vocalist so we grew up listening to this music a lot.
Engelbert, Tom Jones, Ray etc.
Good times.
