I'm pretty sure they are booked for Voodoo if anyone cares.

i definetly care. I mean this album is really enjoyable. Maynard isn't some angry teen anymore, hes an adult. This is very good music and would be thrilled to see them live. If they don't play voodoo I will probably go to Vegas and see them

I'll be eagerly waiting for tickets on stubhub to drop to about $10-20 for decent seats or pit, much like they've done for QOTSA, which I will be going to tonight.

First listen-meh
The more I listen and after seeing them perform on Kimmel it’s growing on me.

Ready to see them live.
PS-I’m going to QOTSA Friday too. For some reason my excitement level is lowering. I do love the saenger though as a venue so we will see what happens.

While this album is clearly different than their early work, I really like this album.

Bump. Have to amend my initial judgment.. this one is actually really good. I've listened to it probably 2-3 times since I shared my initial thoughts. It's different.. but good.

I’m not disappointed with the album.
Album isn’t the best, but most albums are always compared to their previous releases.

My real disappointment is with what I feel to be plagiarism of one of my favorite bands/albums.
Audiovent:dirty sexy knights in Paris.

Audiovent song

Maybe they’re just similar, but seems too consistent with key changes

After a week I like the album a lot more than I did last Friday. It gets better with each listen.

I've really liked the album since day 1 but there's no doubt it gets better with each listen, most of my favorite albums have that quality and this definitely has it

I just want to bump this thread bc I listened last night to the album with awesome pioneer headphones and man the production value is really strong, it's an entirely different album in headphones, and so much nuance.

Really enjoying this album, I went back to 13th step and Mer de Noms, and in retrospect Eat the Elephant still retains that APC feel and sound. APC has their own sound for sure and this album has it. I really didn't care for eMoTIV or w/e but I'm digging ETE.

Definitely. This album is very different but it still has that signature APC sound.

That's the only one I'm feeling right now. By and down remake is aweful.

Didn't know this but this is the first ever holographic album.

It's pretty amazing actually, I have to get one

The band teamed up with Sundance award-winning filmmaker Steven Sebring for the unique addition to their deluxe box set offering of the disc. In the unboxing video above, you can see exactly how the whole thing works, with a special card providing instructions on how to access the feature via a prism, included in the boxset. The prism, when placed on a smartphone, generates a holographic accompaniment to the album.

In all, the hologram tells the story through a young girl’s eyes that plays out over the disc’s 12 songs. A visual sample of the hologram imagery can be viewed in the unboxing player above.

Agreed. I'm a huge piano fan, so I was hooked from the start. Hated Hourglass live, but the album version is awesome.

Yeah, it makes me despise the change in drummers. It feels so much more simple and processed now.

If they did this sort of thing for the APC album, I can only imagine what kind of cool shite they'll come up with for the next Tool album. Adam seems to like pushing the envelope as best he can with their album packaging. I think he was the driving force behind the lenticular Aenima album and the stereoscopic 10K Days album packaging.
