You may recall forumite Devious telling us about his recently acquired 1961 Martin 00-18. From her recent wellness check-up and spa day on my bench ...

Really nice guitar for 60 years old. Did you have to do much to it, as far as adjustment, or tweaking?

I took down the saddle about 1/32" and rerouted some cabling for an onboard A/E pickup system, then just general TLC I do on all guitars that come for upkeep. The neck was superbly reset at some point in its life and she was structurally sound in and out. My work was minimal.

I can't thank you enough for your work. I've played more since picking it up than I have the last year. It is such a joy to play.

I’m gonna have to look up the spec differences between a double and triple 0.

That’s an awesome “couch guitar”. The owner may have the nicest couch guitar EVER. lol.

I’m trying to make my own 000 as I have mentioned a while back. Due to some building anomalies while bending I have a 00 shouldered guitar with a 000 arse.

Wow that's fantastic. Wonderful it stayed in the family.

I plan to keep it that way. At least until I'm long gone.

I'm also a 1961 model. We've both aged pretty well!

Seriously, nice looking guitar.

I have a buddy who has a little Martin like this.

He's a real guitar player, though, not just a collector.

He worked his way through school playing and singing - blind from birth he explains it thusly:

"You guys could work at Wal-Mart or McDonald's. I couldn't do that, but I could sit in a bar and drink, sing and play the guitar."

I can't confirm his other story, but apparently one hasn't lived until one goes to a strip club with a blind man.
