I just finished episode 1 last night. I agree the daughter seems odd at least in the first episode. Are they going to explain why Don Stefano burned the money? Why not keep it?

Yeah the show did some things really well but others were just bad. Disappointed because it should have been better.

Watched E1 tonight and not sure I will go on. Narcos is far superior based on my limited viewing.

You haven't even mentioned the most ridiculous episode, where the sick son is on the container ship by himself.

The original Narcos was outstanding. I can’t make it half way through the Narcos Mexico garbage. I also have no interest to continue last episode 1 of zero zero zero

Yeah pretty much this. From the mogwai score, to the setting and the overall mood of the show it was pretty excellent. I also happen to like Dane Dehaan & Andrea Riseborough as actors. Ultimately the story is just so preposterous it takes you out of it. I mean thee end up in a fricking jihadist camp mid-way through the season, and Chris narrowly escapes a drone strike. WTF?!?!

For the most part though I was able to just turn my brain off and enjoy the ride. But to your original point it definitely should’ve been better. Would watch a season 2 though.

ETA: The sledgehammer through the chest was gnarly, and definitely something I don’t think I’ve seen on screen before.

For me, this is why it was worth watching.

Three fourths of the original series on Prime are like this for me, but I still enjoy them.
