Others were more concerned he would get court-martialed when he won. Anyone who has ever got into a drunken brawl with an officer, is aware of this little fact.

Gonna go with Zander taking the fight we saw. Got sucker-punched and still had control of the fight 3 seconds in, and was dealing on Johnny.

If they kept going, Johnny wins, because he's psychotically obsessed with her, and would fight to the death. And Zander wasn't invested enough in her to kill him. Not saying he couldn't, saying he wasn't going to kill Johnny over her.

Was thinking about this, have to take into account Rico had just graduated from high school while Zander was more than a few years older despite playing in the same sports league. If anything, Rico stood up to a bully.

It definitely is interpreted as they were playing high school sports but the fact that Zander ended up teaching Carmen how to fly the ship? Could he have just had previous experience? Are the kids in Buenos Aires just that advanced?

ETA: How long after Zander shipped off did Carmen go? How long after was the scene with all three of them meeting up on the ship?

Zander always got off to a good start but fades...

The "football game": He smokes Rico, makes the moves on Carmen, early but ultimately loses to Johnny..

Zander makes Fleet, manipulates circumstances to get Carmen as a partner and the first minute Carmen an Rico are together at Spaceport, Carmen still pines for Johnny and Zanders wants to fight...Again, he gets off to a good start although Johnny sucker-punched him but chances are a trained Moble-Infantry Trooper would have kicked a Pilots arse...

Lastly, Zander and Carmen heroically saves the Roughnecks by flying down, hoping out guns blazing to help with the evacuation only later to crash into bug city and get his brains sucked out....

I can't believe I'm having this conversation and how ling this thread has last but Rico tapped Dizzy and Carmen...Zander got head brains sucked out
