Not in my top 5 but didn't see them mentioned. If you like creepy arse movies, A Dark Song and The Void are a couple of off the radar dark films.

Based on earlier posts…

Watched Incantation last night (Netflix … from this year)…

It was a waste of my time. Yes that little Taiwanese girl seeing and talking to unseen beings is creepy… yes. But the majority of the movie is this mother Buddhist camp and tunnel.

My recommendation: It was a waste of time. Don’t waste yours.

Still… thanks for recommendation. Some movies hit differently for different folks.

I watched Event Horizon this evening. Meh. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I am going to try some of the others listed here.

Agree. Maybe I’m warped, but I didn’t get any true sense of horror or disturbance or dread. You said it well. Nothing more to say.

I’m going to try to watch a listed movie here per night.

Thanks folks

Isn’t it a Taiwanese movie?

It’s a good movie, which I have watched several times, and always enjoy. That being said, I do find it odd that it ranks as “most disturbing” for so many people.

One of my favorite recent horror movies.

All the way until the very end at least.

I guess we all have differences in what we would call disturbing. For me, the only movie that ever gave me nightmares was The Prince of Darkness. I thought it was a pretty good movie. I wasn’t expecting to go dream about it so that was a little disturbing.

Yes. I though I was the only one who would post it.

1. Event Horizon Can't really remember many others that I didn't want to watch again other than this.

Watched this last night and did not think it was even kind of disturbing/scary. It had an interesting premise with an all star cast but it didn’t really do it for me on any level other than the acting (Lawrence Fishburne was great IMO)

This is a solid Italian horror I watched the other day on Netflix that’s definitely worth a watch

There is nothing even in the same ball park as The Exorcist, unless you count 2 Women 1 Cup.

Killer Clowns From Outer Space. Campy, but had some real creepy scenes in it.

I assume Prince of Darkness has already been mentioned a few times.

Same. Watched it several years ago and thought "meh"
Watched it again recently and thought "nope, still meh"

I like the premise and the cast though

I don’t mind horror movies that involve humans or anything that can be killed but I hate horror movies centered around paranormal or spectral

That said here are some

The human centipede
Hostel
tooth fairy
Event horizon (when I 1st watched)
Deep Star six (I was 11 and freaked me out)

Tried to watch Incantation the other night. Initially it looked promising but didn't finish it. It became too aggravating hearing that nutty bitch yelling DODO! DODO! Stupidest name for a kid ever.

Gonna try on Hereditary next, and I want to check out The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

I don't know if it's been mentioned or not yet, but I'll throw Baskin into the mix. It's pretty fricked up. But fair waring, I didn't think it was very good at all. Just adding it here for how messed up it is.

Also, Incident in a Ghostland was one I picked up from this board recently. It's pretty disturbing/brutal.

Wrong Turn
Hills have Eyes

those are all disturbing to me.
