Prez, Lester, Mcnulty, slim, bunk, Herc, Omar, Bubbles. So many good characters, it’s hard to choose just one.

I briught this up in the Justified thread, but that show along with The Wire and Sopranos has the most effective and widest cast of characters in TV history. Any number of a dozen “secondary” characters could absolutely steal a scene and leave that moment etched in your consciousness throughout the run of the show.
There are so many for The Wire that you really can’t just pick one. It could change every episode and season.
But the heart and soul of the series, to me, was always most powerfully felt in The Pit with Bodie, Poot, and Wallace, with Deangelo trying to teach them the way, and maybe even the way out of, the game.
To this day the portrayal of those characters as a whole is probably the best and most captivating storyline in television history imo.

Just finished watching the series for the first time, and Bubbs was probably my favorite character. Bodie was another that I really enjoyed.

Freamon, Bunk, Syndor and Carver of the cops.
Slim Charles and Bodie of the gangsters.
Omar (ETA: and Bubs, of course) as "unaffiliated."
The show had few "bad" characters and even fewer bad performances - lightning in a bottle as they were all virtually unknown to U.S. audiences at the time.

Bode has the best arc. Bubbles is a Shakesperean tragedy.
But my favorite? Bunny. The man gives zero fricks. He got his pension.

Respectfully, I think you have those backwards.

I can’t think of a single bad character.

Bunny was my favorite by far. Hamsterdam was my favorite story in the show.
