*Kinda cheating. John Ford's cavalry trilogy

I'm voting this isn't cheating. It's just impossible to pick one of those.

Fort Apache? Hank Fonda as the heavy. 20-year old Shirley Temple and near prime Anna Lee (at that time, Mrs. Robert Stevenson.)

Rio Grande? There was a lot of cast overlap with Yellow Ribbon, but Rio Grande had Maureen O'Hara, Chill Wills and the Sons of the Pioneers.

I think Rio Grande also featured Big Ben Johnson doing his famous horse skiing bit. Johnson got feature roles in both Yellow Ribbon and Rio Grande after heroism on the set of Fort Apache. Hank Fonda's riding double, he stopped a runaway wagon, likely saving 3 dudes from serious injury or death.

John Ford would see the big kid he "discovered" as a stunt double and elevated to actor go on to win Best Actor for The Last Picture Show.

Why the franchise requirement? Trying to narrow the pool down somewhat I guess?
