Ok, so I just moved to a new place and it's the first time I've ever lived by myself before. I can already tell that for at least the next few months, I am going to absolutely rail through some TV shows now that I don't have to worry about anyone else. The show needs to be on Netflix or On Demand. I would prefer new-ish type shows, and typically dramas. Shows that I have heard good things about that are in line in some order:

game of thrones
house of cards
maybe homeland? Idk
that new show where a hacker turns himself in to catch bad guys
maybe mad men? Idk

How would you rank those series? I realize GOT will pretty much unanimously be #1 so I'm going to tackle that first but don't know about after that. What are some other good shows out in the last few years? I don't really have that much interest in SOA. Loved Breaking Bad. Havne't seen the sopranos but I know that's pretty time consuming, may get to that later. Finished the Wire. No interest in TWD.

I just started House of Cards, and I really like it. I'm halfway through the third episode. Good stuff.

House of Cards because season 3 starts at the end of the month. Game of Thrones after that because it starts again in April.

Game of Thrones is the best show that you have listed. 40 episodes of greatness so far. Looking forward to season 5.

My husband and I both enjoyed it, that's why I recommended.

Two brothers, lots of supernatural and biblical beings. Each episode stand alone but strung together. Lots of humor, but lots of seriousness. It is prob the best well rounded series I've watched. And it's fun. Not cheesy at all.

Not your typical teenage show, def geared more toward adults.

Xfiles ish but no aliens. Well there might have been one alien episode.

I have read and watched game of thrones. Loved it. Recommend.

Supernatural is like the fun book you read in between the 1200 page game of throne books.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE sunny, but we both appreciate that sort of humor. Not everyone does. It's a witty, out of the box kind of humor.

Strongly endorse

maybe mad men?

Good show, but very up and down (at times)

One to add might be The Shield.

quote:

sopranos

I'd get on that one fairly soon, too, time-consuming or not, it is a must see.

I liked the whole series, but the first season might be the best first season of any show ever.
