What was the point of the missing girl story? Also, none of the villains in this season are actually dangerous like in the past. So what’s gonna happen? 4 episodes of legal battle and then boom it’s over. I’m confused
I thought the same thing. Half of the show was about this missing girl and looking for her. Why??? Is she going to be tied to the story? If not, then it was a waste of air-time.
And the buffalo.... Oh the buffalo.. There's a feud over the buffalo already so lets go trespass on the other guys property, rope and ride them, for no apparent reason...
Lloyd's character would not do that. Of course when a 20 year old blonde barrel racer is sitting on your lap there's no telling what you may do..

It's like the writers have no idea what to do with her character. They start her out as a high school teacher, then she gets hurt, so they move her to the local college. They sputter around that arc for a bit and can't find much use for it, so now they have this new role for her.
And the whole time she is living it up on the ranch, either sleeping in the tents in the summer grazing area or enjoying the spoils in the main house, all the while complaining about how good the wasi'chu have it while the tribe suffers.

Why is Beth still bruised? Jimmy broke his back and was in critical condition two weeks ago. Now he’s sitting in the bleachers discussing his ill fated rodeo career. Beth got beat up last season but she’s still got bruises?
I have said the same thing for the past few episodes.
I am really starting to get over the whole show. How many times can you have a new group come in and threaten to buy/take your land? I also got tired of Beth and her dramatic one liners "You're the trailer park, I'm the tornado" bullshite real quick.
As far as her and Jamie, I get that she is mad at him, but she got knocked up and begged him to help her. Why doesn't anyone hold her responsible for her portion of that mess?

One word best describes this season-
LAZY.
LAZY.

I have a feeling Rip will want to kill her

Strong Independent Black Woman seems like a worthy adversary. Why have the Becks when you can have her?

So what’s gonna happen?
It seems like next week we’re going to have a Strong Woman showdown between Beth and Strong Independent Black Woman. I can’t wait for this exciting battle of witty exchanges.

So many storylines get left unfinished I can’t keep up honestly

The guys who stole Tate's dinosaur bones come to mind.
Also, I guess we're ignoring the fact that Jamie has a child. It seemed like an ideal time to bring that up after John's diatribe about not having kids.

What ever happened to the construction crew that was about to dig up where Casey buried the two rapist he killed?
They are locked up in the writer’s dungeon with the plane that Casey planted a bomb in for no reason.

This shite is getting stupid. Every week they have all this bullshite filler in these episodes. Last week was the capturing the horse scenes.. This week we have barrel racing and buffalo riding. All the while spending 10 minutes looking for a girl nobody has even seen before. Bad guy bikers make an appearance for half an episode to never be mentioned or heard from again. WTF is this show now?

A bunch of loose strings
Posted on 7/27/20 at 10:46 am to Triple Bogey
Monica and Jimmy need to be written off. The writers have no idea what to do with them now. The whole subplot with the barrel racers is 100% filler. Lately, this show has a habit of bringing in random uninteresting characters with no backstory and giving them an inordinate amount of screen time (like the barrel racers and the stripper from last season).
Also, are we just ignoring the whole "branded men" thing now? It was such a major (and interesting) part of the first two seasons but it's nonexistent now.

Yeah!! No shite!! That was one of the best story lines of the show. Once you were branded you were in for the long-haul. No turning back.
So many new characters have entered the show this season and more each episode. I can't wait to see how the writers "write" themselves out of this.

ETA
I think they could have developed the story line with the stripper
Keep her there working with her head down but involved, not loud like Teeter
There’s no point to barrel racers

Yeah that bothered me. Jimmy said he saw the rodeo as a chance to get out of the bunkhouse. I thought once you got branded there was no getting out?
Maybe the virus screwed up their filming and they've just had to throw a bunch of stuff together. That would explain the buffalo riding.

They've always done that. The first season it was a whole thing on cutting horses.

I loved the first two seasons but this season has just been a bad confusing soap opera. It really seems like season 3 has just started since its like they are still trying to set up an interesting story line and it caught me by surprise when they said 4 episodes left. I figured this season would be alot about the reporter murder and the baby mama knowing who did it, but I guess that’s just another one of those things that they pushed aside for The rest of the nonsense this year.

Unfortunately I think they have just thrown a bunch of stuff out the window.

His former assistant who he had a fling with. It was during the time where he almost sold out the family to the reporter.
She came back in a later episode to tell him that she was pregnant. Nothing ever came of that.

I honestly think they're just tossing those storylines at this point.
Something else that has bothered me: Rip has been neutered this season. He's not the same dark character that does everything (even kill) to protect the ranch.
He's basically just Beth's boyfriend now.
