Still blows my mind that Taylor Sheridan is a Texan and this is how he chose to represent Texas on this show?

quote:Probably so. Especially if Jimmy's new girlfriend and her barrel racing buddy start hanging around the bunkhouse more, they'll do a makeover on her for a night out on the town.
I’m pretty sure there will be a “reveal” episode this season where she’s all fixed up looking hot.

maybe some kind of reservation requirement?
I googled this after one of the protests in NO & a woman spoke about forced sterilization of her people
Time
Over the six-year period that had followed the passage of the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act of 1970, physicians sterilized perhaps 25% of Native American women of childbearing age, and there is evidence suggesting that the numbers were actually even higher. Some of these procedures were performed under pressure or duress, or without the women’s knowledge or understanding. The law subsidized sterilizations for patients who received their health care through the Indian Health Service and for Medicaid patients, and black and Latina women were also targets of coercive sterilization in these years.

There’s no way it would have happened on a reservation to an underaged white kid in the 90s.
Makes no sense
Also, I can see maybe Jamie consenting as she was a minor & not telling her but in reality it doesn’t make sense

Reservations
Jamie was too pussy to take her billings and let dad deal with it
But like I said I'm not sure lil Rip woulda been welcome after hearing he knocked up his 16 yr old daughter anymore
Hell it took him till the end of last season to realize Rip is basically his adopted son
Jamie is a bitch compared to his brother and his sister

No way. Jamie isn't a parent or guardian. If Beth was a minor, they need parental permission. If Beth was an adult, they need her informed consent. There's absolutely no way they would have sterilized her without her knowing beforehand.
This was just a very poorly conceived plot device that made no sense.

I just started the series, and am trough 5 episodes. I like it so far, but holy shite, does the whining from the indians get fricking old.

Sorry but it doesn't get much better in that respect

Monica gets worse. Rainwater has actually turned into a somewhat likable character.

I don't think he was being a pussy. They are showing the lengths he will go to protect his family. The backstabbing Jamie from season 1 was out of character. He just felt under appreciated. I think he will end up being pretty relentless in protecting the ranch.

You think? He was acting pretty squirrelly in the last episode and the previews seem to wanna make you think he might turn on the family again.. Especially now that we know what he did re Beth. If John and Rip find that out there's no telling what the story-line will look like.. I hope not.

IDK. He’s shaping up to be the villain of the series.

It’s a large aspect of their cultural pathology. They can’t just ignore it.
Longmire was the same way IIRC

I'm gonna jump in. I'm into the second season, and this show is getting harder to watch for one big reason. The way Jamie is treated by his father and Beth. Dear God, are they gonna explain why this poor guy is treated like dogshit by his family? He has done more to get Casey out of trouble and help out than Beth so far, and all he gets is beat up by both Beth and his Dad. An Beth....it's getting to where I want to FF through her scenes, she is just a huge piece of shite. Jamie actually sympathized with her when she put a gun to her own head in S1, but she's TELLING him to kill himself in S2. I would understand if the reactions he gets from his family if the writers would give more backstory, but he gets bullied by everyone without any real reason. And if it is "weakness" that makes them dislike Jamie, then how is Beth's constant drinking, pill-popping, and walking around naked outdoors endearing? They give that bitch waaaaay too much screen time
