I started this series a few weeks ago thinking there would only be 3 seasons.. I hate waiting a year or more for the next season of something.
Anyway, I'm liking it OK. I'm usually more into series like Better Call Saul where every little detail is important and unbelievable things don't happen, like chaining someone to a bed for days without letting them go to a bathroom.. But it's been a fun series to watch I guess. I keep getting a "Lost" vibe that none of this shite is really happening and they're all dead..
The 2 hikers will be interesting I hope, but even then, the believable thing to do would be to let them lead you out even if you kill them at the last minute.

same. if i had known it would probably be like 2029 before the conclusion of the show, i probably wouldnt have started it. it will probably be like countless other shows where i watch a season or two and then completely forget about the show long before the next season comes out.
but i like the show too. i just really hope it's all going somewhere real and not going to just end up some whacky pseudo-supernatural explanation for everything getting weirder and weirder.
i lost interest in Lost after a few seasons for the same reason.

Think they pretty much tipped their hand there will not be a concrete answer for that. For instance the writers have said in interviews about the ancient Greek oracles and shared hallucenations when talking about the cave dreams. They show that the man with no eyes is from a commercial from Tai's youth and not some full haunting being.

Why do they wait 2 years between each season?

That would suck if it ends up being haunted whacky trees, etc..

Is the Lisa character, who I read returned last episode, a trans like the actor is?
I just read summaries for season 2 and couldn’t get into it enough to watch.

leaving it somewhat ambiguous i think is ok. i think as long as there is a plausible non-supernatural-but-maybe-sort-of-supernatural explanation it will be fine. but if it's seriously all out "haunted forest" i will be very disappointed.

Nicole Amber Maines (born 1997) is an American actress (actor), writer, and transgender rights activist. Prior to her (his) acting career, she (he) was the anonymous plaintiff in the Maine Supreme Judicial Court case Doe v. Regional School Unit 26, in which she (he) argued her (his) school district could not deny her (him) access to the female bathroom for being transgender.
… Maines and her(his) brother Jonas were adopted at birth as identical twins by Kelly and Wayne Maines in 1997; one of their biological parents was Kelly's second cousin. Though they spent their early years in Gloversville, New York, they grew up in Portland, Maine. Maines was “assigned” male at birth and started showing signs of gender variance at a young age; when she (he) was two years old, Maines reportedly asked her mother questions like "When do I get to be a girl?" and "When will my penis fall off?" She (he) preferred playing with toys intended for girls and identified with female characters in cartoons and movies. Maines herself said she knew she was not a boy as young as three years old and started explicitly telling her family who she was by the age of four.
… In July 2015, Maines had gender-affirming surgery in Philadelphia, a month after graduating from high school.
… In 2023, Maines was cast as Lisa in a recurring role in season two of the Showtime series Yellowjackets. Her character is an associate of adult Lottie who is trying to recover from past traumas.
Gender-affirming should truly mean helping person to accept their biological sex without need to mutilate his or her genitals, but it’s another word game by the left.

Honestly this show is dangerously moving close to the Landman tier of dumb as frick yet entertaining

They killed off the 2 most interesting characters in the present timeline.

Amen.
At least I still have Jeff. I like Jeff.
That, unfortunately, dooms him.

I think Jeff ends up being Lottie's murderer (whether intentional or accident). Weird reaction when Shauna told him Lottie was dead and had scratches on his arm.
I think that might bode well for his future?
More interested to see who is screwing with Shauna.
Hope the cancer comes back for Van and Tai decides to off herself in response, solely so we don't have to spend any more time with them in the present day.
Helluva choice to promote Hilary Swank in the season previews and still not introduce her on the show. Any speculation as to who she could be?

The vast majority of people assume she will be present day Melissa.

It's either Jeff/Shauna/Callie or Walter IMO.

Really? That would be disappointing. Was hoping Melissa got offed before they make it back.

I think Hilary is one of the bird watcher/hikers who was hidden but recorded the groups screaming in the wilderness. She wasn’t discovered like the others were and so now is blackmailing the survivors in the present timeline
Or hell she could be a survivor we haven’t seen yet. I don’t know . Weird to market her and then not even roll her out until 4 episodes in the season left

That would be great. Don't like the idea of more and more teammates just popping up in present day.
I'm guessing that maybe the team was discovered not because anyone was looking for them but maybe because they were looking for the birdwatchers (who I'm assuming the girls eat)?
