Yes. When Robb refused to marry the Frey girl, Roose was screwed too. He was supposed to marry her sister, which means if Robb were king, he'd have been married to the Queen's sister. Pretty nice. Instead, Robb married a nobody, putting the outcome of the war into serious doubt. The way Roose saw it, he had no choice as Robb had not only given away the war, but also fricked over the Boltons in particular.

I agree with all of this.
He should have just manned up and wed the Frey.
It would have been a marriage called upon when needed just for political interest anyway.

So she, Jeyne/Jayne, wasn’t pregnant and didn’t die in the books. Interesting.
She is definitely still alive, but there are theories that she could be carrying Robb's heir. I believe the theory goes that Jaime's description of her when he sees her doesn't really match how she was described in previous chapters.
I also think GRRM confirmed we will see her in the prologue chapter of TWOW (if it ever comes out). So, some think this will be the reveal that she is pregnant.

That and he gave the Frey's all those benefits and then broke his words with the Westerling girl.

It also gets glossed over that Jayne Westerling (Talisa in the show) is Maggie the Frog's great granddaughter who almost certainly used a magic spell or potion to make Robb fall in love with her
I've read them numerous times and I never knew this. Interesting.
They were a relatively small family with very little influence right? This marriage didn't really benefit them in any way in regards to the war.
We'll never see the end story but curious if Robbs baby will pop up at some point.

I think Jaime's description of Jeyne as being different than what he'd heard might be due to Jeyne using a potion to improve her looks during the time she was with Robb, not because she's pregnant.
Either way, I'm 100% convinced that Robb was bewitched in some way or other.
quote:As others have posted, Jeyne Westerling is the focus of the preface of TWOW. She is also still considered the queen in the north, especially by Blackfish, who is currently on the loose, so we'll see.
