During peak TWD, there were tons of zombie movies and TV shows. Everything was zombies for a bit. WWZ came out at the end of that run

Im thinking this lines up great with the sequel following the book.

In my defense it’s been a really long time since I’ve read the book and watched the movie.

It was nothing GM like the book at all. And it was not very good at all IMO. Literal tidal waves of zombies was hilariously stupid and ruined the movie IMO.
I’ve never seen someone take such a good source material and completely butcher it and basically ruin the story. Such a shame.
And yes I am still mad at the fact that we never got a proper telling of the Yonkers chapter from the book. That’s a travesty.

and the plot made no sense.
People were turning into zombies instantly upon being bitten. The idea of a phony virus or whatever it was to fool zombies was beyond dumb. The whole zombie takeover of the wall in Israel was laughable.
Yonkers would have required actual writing out of these clowns.

While I agree the execution was laughable, this idea is one of the few things taken straight from the novel.
