If its not suitable for the holidays than why push it half a year? This is so stupid.

i was wondering the same thing... maybe its so they dont have a cluster of movies coming out around the same time.. spread out the incoming profit? idk how the studios work or think

Because it is more profitable to release it during the summer movie season than the first quarter of the year

That sucks. I'm ready for this. Loved the book

I just don't know how well this will translate to being a movie.
I hope they can pull it off though

I am hoping it would be more like a history channel or ken burns documentary then a first person narrative movie, but I tink I am going to be disappointed

Spring is when you dump your crappy movies. So moving it to June still shows they think it is good. Which is something.

I feel the exact same way. That book is suited for an HBO series way more than a one and done movie.
My expectations have rarely been lower for a movie but I do genuinely hope they can pull it off.

you nana'd over Matthew Fox and not Bryan Cranston
ETA: BC won't be in it anyway : LINK

Yeah, it's been discussed here before but apparently the movie doesn't follow the book very closely at all. There's been an a bit of an outrage from fans of the book.
