With Cobra Kai success what other 80's/90's movies could make a return?

I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the new Cobra Kai series on YouTube. It is well written, well produced, etc. That being said it got me thinking of what other 80's/90's movies could make a return using the same successful formula that is being used with the Karate Kid?

This is the problem that most of them will run into if lots of nostalgia gets brought back, these guys respected the original unlike people named Rian Johnson.

This isn't 80's or 90's, but if someone ever ponied up a good script and money for an episodic version of World War Z, I would be so effing in.

That's a book that cries out for episodic series treatment, and could be excellent in that format.

You could, conceivably, pull off a pretty good franchise based on Romancing the Stone in a TV format.

One sexbomb actress. One charismatic male lead. One lovable douchebag villain. Semi-exotic locations. It could be done and not done for big bucks either.

Back to the future could be well done as a weekly adventure backwards or forward into time although I would not want to be the person to remake it. Too much pressure

Man Micheal Douglas was great in that, along with Devito. I need to watch that and Jewel of the Nile again.

They tried to redo Knight Rider in the early 2000s that flopped.

Quantum Leap could work.

I really think it all depends on a good writer.

I don't know if it's a contract rights issue or what, but it's kind of ridiculous that we haven't seen an update of The Six Million (Billion?) Dollar Man.

Not possible. Michael J Fox & Christopher Loyd are the living embodiment of that series.

Don't forget Kathleen Turner during her sexbomb years. Yes, those years passed quite quickly, but you had the perfect trifecta of acting there.

A great male lead, a great sexy female lead, an all time funny villain.

A TV series could make bank on that right now.

I was hoping that CK success wouldn't invite this, but sadly, it will.

Cobra Kai impossibly redeemed 80's douchebag Johnny Lawrence.

Redeeming Back to the Future's Biff Tannen could be fun.

They've had a couple different time travel shows on network tv the past year. NBC has "Timeless" which is a drama and FOX had some short-lived comedy time travel series.
