This part is hilarious to me as well. Rock is an old pro. On what universe is he going to make it more dangerous for every other stand up comedian to do their job by willingly participating in a stunt where he allows an audience member to walk up on stage and assault him over a joke? For what...a little publicity or pocket change?
This is why Rogan was pissed about what had happened. It's why Jim Carey was. It's why Tim Allen has said something. I'm sure many others have as well. There's zero chance that Chris Rock allowed this on simply stand up code alone.

The thing is...I could be easily convinced that this was all fake. If the people involved admitted it was fake, or someone close to it gave it all away, I'd be happy to eat some crow and say I got duped and move on with my life. It's fairly clear by the fact that nothing so far has remotely moved you guys from your position...meaning this is one of those great conspiracies where even evidence which seems to prove it's real is clearly just there to continue the conspiracy.
It's unfalsifiable for you guys, which is one hell of a position to argue.

So I guess Will Smith was crying for no reason in his acceptance speech. He realized at that point what a fool he made of himself. If it was fake, which it wasn't, both deserve an Oscar for their performance.

So you think Chris Rock and Will Smith WANTED that embarrassment to the Black community? Both have been about as anti anything like that as could possibly be for their entire careers for that very reason. It was not staged. Will Smith just reached a boiling point with his wife publicly humiliating him, his feelings of cowardice from when he was a child and witnessed his father beating his mother without action. This was him boiling over at the worst possible moment of any point in his entire career. There are a ton of people out there that looked up to Will that are ashamed of this event. No. It was not staged.
