It's to program the population into accepting gays. Social engineering. The more you're exposed to it, the more you're likely to be less offended and/or outspoken against it in your daily life.

Because it is normal. Your kids are going to see gay people in real life, just like they will see straight people. Why do you care that they also see both on TV?
