Really need to read the bible. My general impression is God has very little tolerance when it comes to evil.

By the same token if you don’t like Priest pedo jokes too bad, should have thought of that before the Church covered up pedophile abuse by Priests for decades around the world.

Yes, it is pretty clear the Catholic Church allowed itself to be infiltrated by the LGBQT++ crowd. Major mistake and especially mistaken was to allow them into positions of recruitment and abuse.

I don’t think it’s fair to put the above on Christianity as a whole, or really Protestantism as a whole either. As a person who was raised Catholic, I can only really speak to that variety of Christian, but Catholics were either against or had nothing to do with that stuff. So get your Christians right, we Catholics have done way more fricked up stuff than that lol

ETA: to clarify, against the slavery part for the era to which you were referring, obviously not the whole time. Rome for sure had it’s influences on the church

And now we hear from the woke LGBQT+ groomer persecuted peanut gallery. It is like the last three years never happened.

Portraying Christianity as a farce is pretty spot on.

Yea. This is a convincing argument. Use farce and say pretty spot on. If you’re clever maybe you can throw in a coffee house paradox. Rocks so big Jesus can’t move them.

The most highly educated atheist New Testament scholars, almost to a man, will admit that Jesus certainly existed, was executed by Roman crucifixion, and that his followers were proclaiming within one or two years of the Crucifixion that Jesus rose from the dead and had been seen by a considerable number of followers beyond just his disciples.

You have all you need in the New Testament to do your own research and make decisions for yourself that will impact your eternity.

You don’t get off by glibly and cavalierly throwing out farce and pretty spot on.

Give Jesus more respect than that.

Catholicism’s famous Flannery O’Connor used to write some fairly edgy shite.

These are excellent points though I disagree that Passion is shallow or insipid.
I would add for your consideration of a mature treatment of Christianity and its impact on fallen mankind, Man On Fire .

Creasy is transformed after his bloody baptism in the pool from a vengeful Old Testament approach to satisfying justice to a New Testament fulfillment of mercy and justice by sacrificing himself to save another who is metaphorically returned to life from death.

He asks Christopher Walken early in the film if God would ever forgive their sins. Walker says no. Creasy says he didn’t think so either.

Creasy tells the Mother Superior “overcome evil with good” finishing her scriptural quote. At her amazement he tells her he was the sheep that got lost. The misfire. His well worn Bible that he gives to Pita’s mother all points to a drive by Christian sermon that has shared the gospel without you being aware it’s happened.

A film very similar to O’Connor’s short stories.

The problem is that "christians" these days only love their white, hetero, fellow "neighbors." How you think that christians are somehow a class of people under fire is just so damn laughable and stupid. And I say that as a former Christian.

The fact you can’t see that the right and Christianity are the exact same just means you’re trolling or just plain fricking stupid

It’s not judgmental at all. It’s sincere. I’ve struggled for 48 years through all sorts of doubts and personal tragedies including the death of a daughter.

Jesus demands and deserves much, our all actually, and I’m truly saddened any time a brother or sister has turned from the Faith for any reasons. It reminds me of WWII combat films that show an isolated B-17 falling out of formation and shot to pieces in its isolation.

Christianity is a demanding life. My comment was directed to a one time brother who has fallen by the wayside for his own personal reasons.

Can I assume you have never given it even a half assed try?
